Prague as a bookend
Give Prague dedicated city time before or after the drive. Collect or return the car outside the sightseeing days when practical, and choose accommodation parking only if you genuinely need the vehicle.
Czechia's compact map makes a regional road trip easy to shape, but it also tempts travellers to add too many towns. Use Prague as a bookend, then slow down through South Bohemia, Moravia or the northern landscapes.
Curated planning covers all 14 regions as a selected core, not an exhaustive inventory or live availability.

Czechia's 14 regions place castles, spa towns, forests, historic squares and wine landscapes within manageable reach. That does not make every place a day trip: staying locally gives quieter mornings and avoids returning to Prague after every excursion.
Keep Prague mostly car-free, then choose a direction. South Bohemia offers a gentle first circuit; Moravia can support its own food, town and countryside journey; northern sandstone and mountain areas reward weather flexibility.
Each area can be a base rather than a pin on a national checklist.

Český Krumlov, České Budějovice, ponds and smaller towns work from one or two bases. Stay overnight instead of treating the region as a rushed return excursion from Prague.
Combine Brno with selected wine-country towns and landscapes. Keep meals, walks and cellar visits spacious, and confirm any booking or transport directly with the operator.
Olomouc and smaller regional centres can form a slower eastern route, especially when paired with countryside or hill days rather than another long city transfer.
Bohemian Switzerland, the Elbe sandstone area and mountain-edge bases suit walkers and viewpoint days. Keep a town or indoor alternative ready for poor weather.
These are EasyRoad's flexible examples, not official itineraries or guaranteed drive times. Parking, local roads, weather and stops can make a short map distance a substantial day.
Use two or three nights per regional base. A transfer day can carry one castle, town or landscape stop, but several timed visits remove the flexibility that makes a road trip worthwhile.
If you add Austria or Germany, connect it to the nearest part of your Czech route and review the rental terms. An international detour should improve the journey, not just add another country name.
